"We've already had a lot of enquiries about framesets," says Product Manager Jonas Tenbrock, adding: "Racers in particular often have very specific ideas about which parts they want to install." Rose's major mail-order competitor Canyon has been offering individual top models as framesets for some time now.
The frameset of the XLite 06 includes frame, fork, headset, thru-axles, aero seatpost without offset and two bottle cages. As with the complete bike, there is a choice of six frame sizes (50 to 62) and two colour variants (Borealis Green, Matt Carbon). Rose quotes a total weight of 1750 grams for the set (size 57). The package costs 2999 euros. At market launch, the delivery time for all sizes was three weeks.
In the TOUR test the frame weighed in at 901 grams and the fork at 389 grams. Together with the headset and thru-axles, we measured 1374 grams for the frame set. When assembled with Shimano Ultegra Di2 and our own carbon wheels, the XLite 06 weighed a total of 7.4 kilograms.
Rose also takes the one-piece handlebar-stem unit of the Competition road bike as an accessory in the online shop. Interested parties can choose between four sizes. The stem length varies between 90 and 120 millimetres, the handlebar width between 400 and 420 millimetres. The price: 299 euros.
