Italian cycling clothing manufacturer Santini presents Madss, a new collection of aerodynamic cycling clothing for ambitious road cyclists. The line includes one-piece suits, gloves, overshoes and socks which, according to the manufacturer, have been specially developed to maximise speed and efficiency. Each item of clothing is designed to reduce drag and optimise racing performance without compromising on comfort. Santini states that the Madss collection is the result of many years of research and development. The company has invested its resources in the development of clothing designed to reduce friction between the rider and the air. The aim is to combine advanced aerodynamic research, innovative materials and fashionable design. The clothing series designed for competition use is based on the experience gained from the development of jerseys for the Lidl-Trek team and the Tour de France leader jerseys.
The centrepiece of the Madss collection is the racing bike one-piece. According to Santini, this is designed to provide top values in terms of aerodynamics. The top is made of lightweight and breathable Lycra. The ultra-tight fit and low collar are designed to ensure an efficient aerodynamic profile. The sleeves are made from shuttle fabric. This is intended to ensure a stable and precise fit and optimise air circulation thanks to the striped design. The lower part of the one-piece is made from high-strength Lycra with a dense textile pattern. Compression is an important component without restricting freedom of movement. The extended legs have a raw cut and silicone inner grips on the thighs. This is designed to maximise comfort and stability while improving aerodynamic efficiency.
The integrated C3 pad with anti-shock gel inserts and ergonomic 3D surface ensures comfort on long rides. A triple jersey pocket offers storage space for food and equipment.
The Madss collection also includes aerodynamic gloves and overshoes. The gloves are made from a mixture of Lycra and polyurethane. According to Santini, this elasticated material has excellent windproof properties. The aerodynamic structure of the gloves should make it possible to penetrate the wind very well and thus optimise speed. The lightly padded palm offers a combination of comfort and sensitivity. The overshoes should fit the shoe perfectly and reduce air resistance. Santini also promises a very light feel.
The Madss collection is rounded off with aerodynamic socks. These are made from a highly breathable and elasticated material that is designed to offer optimum temperature regulation and a high level of comfort. The flexible material is designed to adapt perfectly to the shape of the foot and ensures a precise fit. The foot section of the socks is made from Q-Skin fabric, which is known for its moisture-regulating effect. The cuff has a three-strip silicone inner grip, which is designed to ensure that the socks do not slip even under intense strain.
