The Italian manufacturer Fizik is expanding its range of accessories with a product that should be of particular interest to many cyclists in the wet and cold season: waterproof overshoes. The new overshoes are designed to keep feet reliably dry in rain and mud and, according to the manufacturer, are suitable for both road and mountain bike shoes.
Fizik overshoes: dry feet despite rain and mud
This is Fizik's response to the demand for versatile weather protection that not only works on the road, but also off-road. The overshoes have an elasticated, waterproof membrane that completely encloses the shoe and is designed to keep out splash water and mud. According to Fizik, the seams are also sealed to prevent moisture from penetrating through them.
Various areas of application - robust design
When developing the overshoes, Fizik has obviously placed particular emphasis on a robust construction that fulfils the requirements of different areas of use. The overshoes have a particularly wear-resistant material on the sole and toe. This is intended to increase durability, especially when walking, for example when crossing obstacles in the terrain or short running passages.
According to the manufacturer, the fit of the overshoes is designed so that they fit over both road cycling shoes and mountain bike shoes. This makes the overshoes a versatile solution for different cycling disciplines and eliminates the need to purchase separate models for each area of use.
Fizik overshoes with practical details for easy handling
In addition to the waterproof construction, the developers at Fizik have also thought of practical details that should make everyday use easier. For example, the overshoes have an elasticated waistband at the ankle to ensure a secure fit and make them easier to put on and take off. A Velcro fastener enables individual adjustment and is designed to prevent the overshoes from slipping when pedalling.
