As a road cyclist, you have to be flexible: If you set off in the warm afternoon and arrive in the cool evening hours, for example. Or when you're travelling in the mountains and the cold wind whistles under your jersey on the descent. Fortunately, there are three companions that are quick to put on and take off, are tiny in your jersey pocket and can and should always be with you: Waistcoat, arm warmers and knee warmers. Because every cyclist is different and it is therefore almost impossible to give general recommendations for clothing, we took sets from 17 manufacturers to the TOURTraining Camp in Cambrils, Spain, and put them through an extensive practical test with the help of the participants.
SHORT & SHORT
It's worth trying them on: while the cut of the waistcoats from different manufacturers varies mainly between sporty and casual and less in the size gradation, the arm and knee rings differ considerably in the gradation. The length and width of the tested sizes S, M and L varied both within a brand and between the different manufacturers. For example, Pearl Izumi's size "L" arm warmers are eight centimetres longer than the size "S", while Specialized's are only one centimetre longer.
