The overall winner of the Tour of the Basque Country in 2022 and the Tour of the Dauphine two years earlier is expected to improve Bora-Hansgrohe in the mountains with his climbing skills and as a lead rider.
"Dani gives us more options when the metres in altitude increase. Whether in shorter tours, Grand Tours or in the Ardennes - whether as a leader, stage hunter or noble helper, with him in the team we gain strength," said team boss Ralph Denk in a statement.
He won the 13th stage of the 2020 Tour de France ahead of Lennard Kämna and Maximilian Schachmann. The current season has not been satisfactory for the 27-year-old Martinez. Following the departure of Nils Politt, Bora expects the new rider to take on the role of one of the team's lead riders.
