MyWhoosh is introducing a new treasure hunt function. Users of the training app will be rewarded for exploring their virtual worlds. The indoor platform is offering a share of the profits in bitcoins.

In contrast to traditional virtual bike races, the new format does not focus on the speed and endurance of the participants, as the Abu Dhabi-based company explains. Instead, MyWoosh wants to bring users closer to its virtual worlds. The aim is for users to find a hidden treasure gate. After the official launch, there will be one hour to do so. Successful participants can look forward to a prize: one twelfth of a Bitcoin will be divided among all treasure finders. The current price of the cryptocurrency is around 78,800 euros per Bitcoin.

Qualification is necessary

In order to take part in the treasure hunt, interested parties must have covered at least 60 kilometres using the indoor cycling platform before the event. In addition, the use of a heart rate monitor and a smart roller trainer obligatory, according to MyWoosh. The first treasure hunt is planned for 10 January (10 am). Qualification can be completed by 9 January at the latest. The event will take place monthly.

MyWhoosh was founded in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and has established itself among indoor athletes alongside industry leader Zwift and providers such as Bkool and Rouvy. In addition to the new treasure hunt function, the programme offers training plans and weekly races. Thanks to a financially strong background from the United Arab Emirates, the app is free of charge. The provider is also a partner of the UCI World Championships in e-sports cycling.
