Ursus presents the new Arya R carbon wheelset made in Europe. Ursus is not just any wheel manufacturer, but a really experienced one. Ursus has been building wheels at home since 1967. The latest product from the Italians goes by the name of Arya R and is a lightweight aero wheelset with a focus on full road performance. Uncompromising speed
These are the facts about the new road bike wheelset from Italy: We weighed the Arya R with 50 mm high rims at 1380 grams. A good value, which is partly due to the 21 carbon spokes per wheel. Ursus wants 2500 euros for the set. The Arya R is therefore aimed at the fastest racers in the world. The area of application ranges from ambitious training laps to uncompromising competition. The new design was trialled at the Tour De France 2025, where Oscar Onley rode the wheelset to fourth place overall.
The Arya R marks the technological spearhead of the Ursus line-up and is designed to excel on steep Alpine passes as well as on long, gruelling race days and the final sprint. The engineers wanted to achieve one thing above all during development: Every watt from the legs should be converted into speed.
The Ursus Arya R is available with a rim height of 35 or 50 mm. The inner rim width is 23 mm. On the outside, the rim is 30 mm wide and looks really good. The Italians simply know how to design! And at this point a small digression is allowed: Ursus builds its carbon wheels in its own country. So we're not talking about some random product from the Far East, but about parts from the heart of Europe. Back to the Arya R: It accepts modern tyres between 28 and 45 mm wide and is prepared for a tubeless setup. This makes it possible to build a really light wheelset.
At the centre of the Arya R are the highest quality hubs from Ursus. The U-RD60s come with high-quality ceramic bearings, which are designed to rotate particularly smoothly. They are protected by an efficient seal design for a long service life. The hubs are also produced on a CNC milling machine in Italy and, with their robust aluminium housing, should be particularly stiff and powerful. Ursus promises lightning-fast acceleration, responsive handling and top-notch aerodynamics. However, the Arya R is not aimed exclusively at World Tour pros, but at all ambitious athletes who are chasing podiums and PRs or simply want to ride some really stylish wheels.
