Test 2018: Road bikes up to 1,000 euros
Good quality at a favourable price? Nine road bikes take part in the TOUR test to show whether this is possible at prices between 850 and 1,000 euros.
Sturdy aluminium frames dominate the scene in the class up to 1,000 euros. From race-orientated geometries to emphatically comfortable riding positions, there is a suitable bike for every requirement. It is noticeable that the bikes are much more comfortable to ride compared to previous years. All bikes offer a range of gear ratios that can cope with any terrain. However, as nine or ten sprockets are standard on the rear wheel, the jumps between gears are greater than on more expensive bikes with eleven-speed drivetrains.
