Lotte Kopecky has announced her racing calendar for this spring. The world champion will start her season next week at the UAE Tour and finish the spring with Liège-Bastogne-Liège on 22 April. It will be the first time that the SD Worx - Protime rider has ridden the Ardennes classic.

Kopecky sees the UAE Tour as a warm-up for the first two classics of her season: Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Strade Bianche. She then switches to the cycling arena and takes part in the UCI Nations Cup in Hong Kong. A week later, the spring classics begin for her, in which she will take part in Gent-Wevelgem, Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris-Roubaix, Amstel Gold Race and Liège-Bastogne-Liège participates.

If everything goes according to plan, two more races could be added. Danilith Nokere Koerse on 13 March and Dwars door Vlaanderen on 27 March.

Kopecky: "The classics used to be too difficult for me"

Kopecky has his sights set primarily on Paris-Roubaix this spring, but is also looking forward to Liège-Bastogne-Liège. "I think Liège is also a race that should be within my capabilities," said Kopecky. "Last year I also took part in the Amstel Gold Race for the first time and it went well. These classics used to be too difficult for me. But two years ago at the Strade Bianche I realised that these races are also starting to suit me. After last season, I also think I'm capable of competing for victory in Liège-Bastogne-Liège."
