Bora-Hansgrohe brings Sam Welsford from dsm-firmenich

The 27-year-old sprinter is leaving the dsm-firmenich team after two years and will join Bora-Hansgrohe on 1 January next year. This was announced by the team from Raubling in Upper Bavaria. "Sam is a pure sprinter and has one of the highest finishing speeds in the peloton," said sports director Rolf Aldag.

Welsford has already celebrated several track cycling world championship titles. For the past two years, he has been focussing on road racing. At the 19th edition of the Renewi Tour in Belgium, Welsford recently won the fourth stage, beating top sprinters Jasper Philipsen (Belgium) and Dylan Groenewegen (Netherlands), among others. So far this year, he has collected four stage wins.
