Bora-Hansgrohe continues to upgrade. The German cycling team has managed to lure the coach away from one of the peloton's biggest stars.

Following the transfer of cycling star Primoz Roglic, the German top racing team Bora-Hansgrohe has made another high-calibre new signing.

Marc Lamberts switches to Bora-Hansgrohe

The team from Raubling in Bavaria announced that it had signed coach Marc Lamberts. The Belgian was Wout van Aert's coach for many years and also worked with Roglic at Team Jumbo-Visma in recent years.

"Marc brings decades of experience in competitive cycling and coaching to the team and has worked for one of the most successful teams in recent years," said Bora head coach Dan Lorang.

Van Aert reacts to the departure of Marc Lamberts

Van Aert had previously regretted the departure of Lamberts: "Marc was my first and so far my only coach. I regret the change." Van Aert has won nine stages of the Tour de France, as well as the classics Milan-Sanremo, Amstel Gold Race and Ghent-Wevelgem. He was twice runner-up in the world road race and three times world cross champion.

The 61-year-old Lamberts is one of the most renowned coaches in the peloton. He has worked with van Aert since he was 17 years old.
