"I'm delighted that he's here," said chief organiser Oliver Schiek, Managing Director of Ironman Germany GmbH, confirming the participation of the 27-year-old from Team Jumbo Visma.
The Cyclassics are celebrating their comeback this year after the event had to be cancelled in the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This year, the route covers 204 kilometres. Also announced for the 25th edition are three-time world champion Peter Sagan from Slovakia and the Italian Elia Viviani, who triumphed in the Hanseatic city in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
