Simon Geschke, who has long worn the Tour de France mountain jersey, and track world champion Emma Hinze are Germany's "Cyclists of the Year".

Cyclist of the year: Herzog wins in the young talent category

Junior world champion Emil Herzog also won the junior category in the poll organised by the specialist magazine "RadSport". This was announced by the German Cycling Federation (BDR).

Geschke, who ultimately came second in the mountain classification, was elected for the first time, Hinze for the second time after 2020. Behind Geschke (35.3 per cent of the votes), artistic cycling world champion Lukas Kohl (27.4) came second. While Hinze (23.4) was clearly ahead of Lisa Brennauer (18.3), the vote for Herzog (26.5) was very close ahead of Clara Schneider (25.9).
