Theo Reinhardt from Berlin has won the next German medal at the European Track Cycling Championships with silver.

The 31-year-old European champion in the two-man team race took second place in the elimination race. Only the Italian Tour de France stage winner and professional of the Ineos Grenadiers racing team, Elia Viviani, was better than Reinhardt. Third place went to the Belgian Jules Hesters.

In the elimination race, the last rider in the field must leave the race every two laps.

Thanks to Reinhardt's second place, the German Cycling Federation (BDR) has won five gold and three silver medals after three days of decisions on the wooden oval.
