Bei Strade Bianche war im Damenrennen plötzlich ein Pferd auf der Straße
A horse galloping on the course caused a hectic finish to the women's Strade Bianche. The animal had apparently broken loose and ran onto the course between leader Kristen Faulkner and chaser Demi Vollering 15 kilometres before the finish of the cycling race.

Strade Bianche: Horse slows down Vollering

Vollering was slowed down a little and, like the motorbikes, kept his distance from the frightened animal. After a few hundred metres, the horse fell in a left-hand bend and was unable to get back onto the track.

In Siena, Vollering won the sprint ahead of her team-mate Lotte Kopecky and celebrated her first success in the gravel track race in Tuscany. Faulkner, who led for a long time, finished third. German road cycling champion Liane Lippert rode to eighth place in a good race.
