Four-time world champion Pauline Grabosch, European champion Alessa-Catriona Pröpster and Lara-Sophie Jäger have been discharged from hospital after a serious racing accident at the German track cycling championships.
"After the first impressions, you can say that everyone was lucky in their misfortune," said Detlef Uibel, Federal Centre Manager Brandenburg and Sports Director of the event in Cottbus.
Grabosch's (Cottbus) initially feared broken bones were not confirmed, but the 25-year-old will have to undergo an operation on her elbow bursa in the near future. Jäger (Erfurt) suffered a broken collarbone in the keirin final on Saturday in Cottbus, which will be treated further in Erfurt. Pröpster (Offenbach) was also able to leave the Carl-Thiem Clinic on Sunday after suffering a circulatory collapse. The race on the 333-metre concrete track was won on Saturday evening by European champion Emma Hinze from Cottbus.
