Franziska Brauße hat die 3000-Meter-Einerverfolgung bei der Bahnrad-Meisterschaft gewonnen.
Olympic team champion and individual world champion Franziska Brauße won the women's 3000 metre single pursuit at the start of the 136th German Track Cycling Championships.

The 24-year-old athlete from Eningen beat Justyna Czapla from Schwabach in the final in 3:41.942 minutes on the race track in Cottbus, with a lead of over eleven seconds. Third place went to Lea Lin Teutenberg from Cologne.

Nicolas Heinrich from Zwickau successfully defended his title in the men's event. The former European champion caught up with his opponent Theo Reinhardt from Berlin in the final. In the small final for bronze, Leon Rohde (Wedel) surprisingly beat Tobias Buck-Gramcko (Göttingen) in 4:35.715 minutes.

The championships run until Sunday. Around 300 athletes will be competing in the elite, junior and youth classes. 52 titles will be awarded. In some classes, the competitions also serve as qualification for international highlights in the coming weeks.
