Corona at the Giro: Four Evenepoel team members positive

Im Team von Remco Evenepoel geht das Coronavirus um.
The team of the already retired road cycling world champion Remco Evenepoel has to cope with further cancellations at the Giro d'Italia.
The team Soudal - QuickStep announced that Jan Hirt, Josef Cerny, Louis Vervaeke and Mattia Cattaneo have tested positive for coronavirus and have withdrawn from the race. The Italian Andrea Vendrame from Team AG2R had to abandon the race with Covid-19. A total of 14 riders have already left the Giro due to Covid illnesses.
Evenepoel tested positive at the Giro d'Italia on Sunday
On Sunday evening, Evenepoel tested positive after his victory in the individual time trial at the Giro d'Italia 2023. Italy's two-time time trial world champion Filippo Ganna had already tested positive the day before. As a result, the race organisation RCS reintroduced the mask requirement on Monday.
