Remco Evenepoel muss den Giro d'Italia 2023 aufgeben
The 106th Giro d'Italia loses its leading rider and biggest star: Road cycling world champion Remco Evenepoel has to withdraw from the second biggest national tour due to a positive corona test. This was announced by his team Soudal - Quick Step.

Evenepoel was 45 seconds ahead of the Brit Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers). The 23-year-old's retirement means that Bremen's Lennard Kämna (Bora-Hansgrohe) moved up to eighth place.
