Gewann WM-Gold im Keirin: Lea Sophie Friedrich.
Lea Sophie Friedrich won the gold medal in the Keirin combat sprint at the Track Cycling World Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Third medal for Friedrich at track cycling world championships
The 22-year-old defending champion triumphed in the final ahead of Mina Sato from Japan and Steffie van der Peet from the Netherlands. For Friedrich, it was her third medal on the Olympic track in Paris 2024 after winning gold in the team sprint and silver in the sprint.
Team-mate Emma Hinze, the 2020 keirin world champion, had decided not to compete due to the high workload. Alessa-Catriona Pröpster was the second German participant to be eliminated in the hope heat.
