André Greipel ist als Nationaltrainer künftig für Nominierungen für Weltmeisterschaften oder die Olympischen Spiele verantwortlich.
The new national road cycling coach André Greipel sees no conflict of interest in his function and his job as a professional cycling consultant.

In an interview published by the German Cycling Federation (BDR), Greipel said that it was important to him to help young riders get a contract.

André Greipel speaks out

"The UCI requires an agent's licence for this. And that's why I'm doing it. But that won't influence my decisions in any way, for example when it comes to nominating the World Championship team," said the 40-year-old. He did not disclose which riders Greipel specifically represents in the press release.

As national coach, Greipel is in charge of nominations for the World Championships or the Olympic Games. According to dpa information, there are therefore also critical voices in the peloton due to his two jobs. Greipel countered the concerns by saying that such decisions are never made by him alone, but in consultation with BDR board member Marcus Burghardt and the presidium.
