"If you have someone like Evenepoel with you, that's very good. On the other hand, it wouldn't be ideal for me either, I have to be honest. If Evenepoel is there, there's one less place for you," Kämna told the German Press Agency on the sidelines of the World Cycling Championships in Scotland.
Evenepoel's father recently discussed a possible departure of the 2022 world champion from the Belgian Soudal-Quick-Step team and spoke of three specific interested parties. According to Belgian media reports, these are the German Bora-Hansgrohe team, Lidl-Trek and Israel-Premier Tech. The British top racing team Ineos is also repeatedly being discussed.
"He would definitely be very welcome, he's a great rider, but I wouldn't regret it if he went elsewhere either," continued Kämna, who "can't imagine with the best will in the world" a move for the 22-year-old superstar.
