The Giro d'Italia 2023 kicks off on 6 May with an individual time trial on the Costa dei Trabocchi. This will be followed by 20 more stages that will take the peloton to Rome, where the Tour of Italy will finish on 28 May. Cycling fans can watch all stages of the Giro d'Italia on TV and the Giro d'Italia will also be shown live on the internet today and on all other stage days.
Unlike the Tour de France, the most important cycling race in the world, there will be no coverage on the public broadcasters ARD and ONE. In Germany, the sports channel Eurosport 1 will broadcast all 21 stages of the 2023 Giro d'Italia.
The TV channel Eurosport 1 is available on free-to-air TV in Germany. The programme can be received via satellite, cable, IPTV or in some regions via DVB-T.
Cycling commentator Karsten Migels is on duty at the Giro d'Italia 2023. He will be joined by ex-professional cyclists Bernhard Eisel and Jens Voigt as experts. Voigt will describe his impressions from the support bike in the second week of the Giro. During this time, Rolf Aldag will be on the TV mic for him. Birgit Hasselbusch and Marc Rohde will familiarise viewers with the country and its people.
As in 2022, Eurosport will provide a detailed analysis in the Velo Club after each stage. This is a 30-minute programme hosted by David Marcour. Together with commentator Karsten Migels and the Eurosport experts, the most important scenes of each day are discussed again.
The 2023 Tour of Italy will not only be broadcast on television. Cycling fans can also watch it digitally via live stream. Discovery+ and GCN+ have a corresponding offer, which is subject to a fee, but all stages can be watched in full length and without commercial breaks.
For all those who cannot follow the race on TV or live stream, there is the option of calling up the most important information in the live ticker. At TOUR we follow the stage finals in our live blog.
