The Tour de Suisse 2025 offers the classification riders another chance to make up ground on stage 7 before the final mountain time trial. On the route from Neuhausen am Rheinfall to Emmetten, the riders have to conquer 207.3 kilometres and 3190 metres in altitude. The start is at 11:45 in Neuhausen and the finish in Emmetten is expected at around 17:00.

What happens on the final climb?

The crossing of the Bürgenstock in the second half of the race should thin out the peloton considerably. The final climb to Emmetten offers the last opportunity to attack. There the route climbs another 3.9 kilometres with an average gradient of 8.1 per cent. The section between kilometre one and two, where there is a ramp with a gradient of almost 13 per cent, is ideal for an attack. Two races are also possible on stage 7: A breakaway group breaks away in the first part and fights for the stage win, while behind them on the final climb the classification riders try to gain valuable seconds in the overall standings.

Scenic highlights of the 7th stage of the Tour de Suisse 2025

The stage leads through scenic regions of Switzerland. The start in Neuhausen am Rheinfall offers a spectacular prelude at the largest waterfall in Europe. On the way, the riders pass the Rothenthurm upland moor, the largest upland moor in central Switzerland, between Rothenthurm and Biberbrugg. Another highlight is the passage through Lucerne with the famous Chapel Bridge as a landmark. The finish in Emmetten above Lake Lucerne promises a picturesque finale.
