Tour of Germany with Buchmann - Kämna and Schachmann missing

Buchmann, who had to be replaced at short notice due to a urinary tract Tour of Spain had to withdraw, leads the six-man squad of the German Bora-hansgrohe racing team.

"He prepared really well for the Vuelta with altitude training. If it works somehow and he is healthy, we would like to use it for the Tour of Germany," said sports director Rolf Aldag, explaining Buchmann's nomination. Kämna, who came up trumps at the Tour de France, and Schachmann, on the other hand, were recently suffering from health problems and are expected to take a break.

In addition to Buchmann, last year's German winner Nils Politt and Anton Palzer as well as the three Austrians Marco Haller, Patrick Konrad and Felix Großschartner are in the Bora squad. Haller surprisingly won the Hamburg Cyclassics on Sunday, outsprinting Belgian superstar Wout van Aert in the process.
