In the fourth of five rounds of the UCI Track Champions League, Berlin's Moritz Malcharek has worked his way up to seventh place in the overall endurance rankings.

The runner-up at the European Championships in Munich finished second in the scratch race on the Olympic track in London, making up three places in the process. The track cycling series also ends on Saturday evening at the Lee Valley Velopark.

Bötticher still on course for a podium finish

In the sprint category, Stefan Bötticher from Chemnitz is still on course for a podium finish in third place ahead of the final day. The German champion finished third in the keirin on Friday, but was eliminated in the first round of the sprint.

Australian Matthew Richardson ousted eleven-time world champion and defending champion Harrie Lavreysen from the top spot in London. 500,000 euros in prize money will be paid out on the final day.
