Emma Hinze wird bei den Berliner Sixdays starten.
Six-time track cycling world champion Emma Hinze is returning to competition at the 110th Berlin Six Day Race. This was announced by the organisers of the race (27 to 29 January).

The 25-year-old withdrew for a few weeks after the World Championships in October 2022 due to mental and physical exhaustion and voluntarily decided not to defend her title in the Champions League. The Cottbus native had won its premiere in 2021.

Hinze comments

"My batteries are full again. I want to use Berlin to get in the mood for the European Championships," said Hinze, who returns from a two-week training camp with the national team in South Africa on Tuesday. Hinze won the sprint, time trial and team sprint titles at the 2022 European Championships in Munich, making her the most successful female European champion. The next title fights are already scheduled for 8 to 12 February in Grenchen/Switzerland. In Berlin, Hinze will face seven-time world champion Lea Sophie Friedrich from Cottbus, among others. Three-time junior world champion Clara Schneider from Finsterwalde will be making her debut in the elite class.
