The 25-year-old Dane won the final mountain stage in Hautacam ahead of defending champion Tadej Pogacar and extended his lead over the Slovenian to 3:26 minutes.

Pogacar's tour was almost over on the descent from the Col de Spandelles. The 23-year-old crashed around 30 kilometres before the finish when he hit a gravel section on a bend.
Pogacar immediately got back on his bike, Vingegaard did not attack and waited for his rival. On the final climb to Hautacam, Vingegaard then launched the decisive attack 4.4 kilometres before the finish.
