"As long as the road doesn't climb too much, that's my territory, especially on cobbles and in the wind. I'm also very experienced in supporting a group," the 30-year-old was quoted as saying in a press release.
The team, which is co-financed by the tourism agency of the Al-ʿUla region in Saudi Arabia, wants to utilise Walscheid's skills in the classics races in Belgium and France, among others. Born in Neuwied, he has been riding for World Tour teams since 2015. In the past two years, he was part of the French team Cofidis, where he worked together with compatriot Simon Geschke.
