This was announced by the team from Raubling in Upper Bavaria when the first seven riders of the eight-man squad were named. In addition to the German duo, Australian Jai Hindley has been nominated as captain for the overall standings, with Austrian Marco Haller and Luxembourger Bob Jungels also planned as helpers. Belgian Jordi Meeus and Dutchman Danny van Poppel form the sprint duo. Irishman Sam Bennett, once winner of the green jersey, will not be taking part in the Tour.
The last place for the most important race in the world, which starts in Bilbao, will be awarded this weekend. According to Bora, it should be a rider who is fit for the mountains, so Maximilian Schachmann from Berlin has a chance alongside the Colombian Sergio Higuita and the Belgian super talent Cian Uijtdebroeks. Schachmann has been plagued by health problems over the past twelve months. At the recent Tour de Suisse, the 29-year-old delivered a good result with 14th place.
