The 27-year-old Australian Vine, who already became Australian time trial champion in January 2023, finished the 112.5-kilometre final stage on Mount Lofty in second place, beaten only by Great Britain's Simon Yates (Jayco AlUla). But the overall victory was the UCI ESports World Champion of 2022 thanks to a lead of eleven seconds. Two kilometres before the finish, Yates launched an attack, but it was ineffective. The Spaniard Pello Bilbao (Bahrain-Victorious) finished third overall, 0:27 seconds behind Vine.

Defending champion Richie Porte has now ended his career. Tübingen-born Marius Mayrhofer (Team DSM) was the best German rider at the 2023 Tour of Australia, finishing in 21st place.
