The 30-year-old Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) won the sprint in Willunga after 135 kilometres ahead of the Italian Alberto Bettiol and his compatriot Hugo Page. Marius Mayrhofer (Team DSM) from Tübingen was the best German to reach the stage finish in southern Australia in eighth place, while Kim Heiduk from Ineos-Grenadiers finished ninth.
Ahead of the final stage on Sunday, Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates) remains at the top of the overall standings. The Australian is 15 seconds ahead of Simon Yates from England and Pello Bilbao from Spain. The best German in the overall standings is Mayrhofer in 18th place, 1:06 minutes behind. The fifth and final stage ends on Sunday after 112.5 kilometres on Mount Lofty to the east of Adelaide.
