The stage race begins on 23 August with a prologue in Saarland. On the German side, Nils Politt, Maximilian Schachmann, Pascal Ackermann and Phil Bauhaus will be among those getting on their bikes. Georg Zimmermann, who narrowly failed to win a stage in this year's Tour of France, is also planning to take part. According to the organisers, 14 teams that have also taken part in the Tour de France will be at the start. A total of 20 teams are planning to take part.
The list of 120 starters is still provisional. All teams can still adjust their line-up up until the start. The five-day race, which starts with a prologue in St. Wendel and ends in Bremen, will be held from 23 to 27 August. Last year, British pro Yates secured the overall victory, which he intends to defend this year.
