With bikefitting, the struggling bike manufacturer, which recently caused a stir with the news of mass redundancies, is expanding its in-house customisation programme. Until now, interested parties have only been able to configure their dream bike via MyCanyon - more specifically, customise the Aeroad CFR with their desired components and paint finishes.
Before ordering the aerodynamically optimised competition racer, interested parties now also have the option of finding the right frame size and ideal choice of components with the specialists from Hycys and Gebiomized.
The service is available at five locations. Dr Kim Tofaute is responsible for bike fitting at the company headquarters in Koblenz. Hycys offers measurements in Hamburg, Cologne and Munich. In Münster, Gebiomized takes care of fitting riders and bikes. Canyon offers two models at different prices. The so-called premium bike fitting costs 189 euros, while Canyon and its partners offer the basic version for 99 euros. The mail order company and manufacturer also emphasises that all bike fitting customers receive a voucher for 100 euros, which is valid for the MyCanyon programme.
The premium bike fitting should take around 90 minutes and includes precise measurements, a flexibility test, determining the right frame size and a movement analysis. The optimum riding position is optimised step by step and various add-on parts such as the saddle, cockpit and crank lengths are tested. The bike fitting is supplemented by a saddle pressure measurement and fine adjustment of the cleats, among other things.
