Big dreams - for example, of taking part in the Tour de France, the biggest cycling race in the world - start small. However, when children and young people get the idea of trying their hand at cycling, they - or their parents - will realise that there is hardly any suitable and affordable sports equipment for their body size. Bike manufacturer Canyon has therefore created the Young Hero programme to introduce the next generation to the sport and the freedom of cycling.
For young and small riders who want to explore the road or chase their first finish line, there is the Endurace Young Hero, for example. With its aluminium frame, wide all-road tyres and child-friendly geometry, it is ideal for perfect asphalt, rough roads and light gravel. The Ultimate CF Young Hero racing bike with carbon frame combines race-ready performance and precision in a compact package and is suitable for entry-level racing. With smaller wheels, lighter gears and a responsive ride feel, it is designed to meet the needs of children and young people. Both models are available in sizes 3XS to 2XS. The Endurace Young Hero is designed for young athletes with a height of 151-164 centimetres and costs €1,299. The Ultimate CF Young Hero is designed for slightly taller cyclists with a height of 152-166 centimetres and costs €1,999.
Following a similar pattern, Canyon also offers models for kids who prefer to try out and let off steam off-road. In the Young Hero MTB series, the Grand Canyon takes on the role of the everyday MTB. The hardtail is equally at home on forest paths, gravel tracks and the urban tarmac jungle. Available in 3XS to XS, it is aimed at kids between 120 and 152 centimetres tall and is available from 599 euros. For children who have already gained their first experience on a bike, the Exceed CF brings the DNA of cross-country racing to the Young Hero series. It is available in XS for riders between 158 and 166 centimetres tall at a price of 1,599 euros. Finally, the full-suspension Neuron is made for little shredders; with its robust aluminium frame and child-specific suspension, young riders should be able to master technical terrain and bike park laps as well as discovery tours in the backcountry. The eye-catching paintwork in the style of scene celebrity Fabio Wibmer makes it a real eye-catcher on any trail. Available in 2XS to XS for riders from 135 to 166 centimetres tall, it costs 1,699 euros.
