The Widesky hard shell roof tent from Thule is designed to differ from classic wedge roof tents thanks to its interior design. The mattress can be transformed into a backrest and creates a sofa-like seating area. In the front area, the design allows you to sit upright. Panoramic doors and mesh panels provide a view and ventilation, while dimmable LED lights illuminate the tent.
The gas-assisted opening mechanism and drawstrings enable assembly and disassembly in seconds. The aluminium shell and a honeycomb floor panel form the basis of the construction. The fabric is made from recycled material. When closed, the tent is 20 centimetres high, when opened it reaches 124 cm without the mattress.
Weighing less than 68 kg, the Widesky is said to be lighter than comparable aluminium hard-shell roof tents. According to the manufacturer, the compact height makes it compatible with most roof rack systems and a wider range of vehicles, including normal cars. Inside there is a quilted foam mattress, an insulated felt blanket and four internal pockets. The ladder can be attached to either side and stowed in a multifunctional bag, which also serves as a hanging organiser.
