For the transitional season: Castelli expands its Espresso range to include thermal clothing

The Italian brand from Fonzaso is launching four new products for autumn and spring. The Espresso Thermal Bibshorts and the TRNSTN Bibtights complement the existing collection, offering options for changeable weather between summer and winter.

Espresso Thermal Bib Shorts

The Espresso Thermal Bibshorts retain the minimalist design of the standard bibshorts on the outside. On the inside, Castelli has incorporated a brushed thermal fabric that provides warmth whilst maintaining freedom of movement. The recommended temperature range is between 10 and 18 degrees Celsius.

The front of the trousers is cut longer to provide greater coverage. The cut tapers behind the knee to prevent creasing when cycling. The stretchy fabric means the leg cuffs do not need an elasticated waistband, as the fabric stays in place on its own.

TRNSTN Cycling Tights

The TRNSTN Bibtight bridges the gap between short bib shorts and lined winter trousers. It features the Doppio fabric used in the Espresso 2 Bibshort and incorporates the seamless Progetto X2 Air chamois. This is the first time Castelli has offered this combination in a long version. They are designed for temperatures between 8 and 16 degrees Celsius.

Jerseys with reinforced pockets

The Espresso 2 long-sleeved jersey and the Espresso Thermal 2 jersey feature reinforced back pockets designed to prevent sagging when fully loaded. New colours have been added to the range.

Both jerseys are close-fitting without being restrictive. The Espresso 2 long-sleeved jersey is made from a summer fabric suitable for temperatures of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. The Espresso Thermal 2 jersey has a brushed inner lining and is suitable for temperatures between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius. Both models are designed to wick moisture away from the skin.

Espresso 2 Waistcoat

The Espresso 2 vest is designed for temperatures between 12 and 20 degrees Celsius. New colour options offer more ways to mix and match with other items of clothing.

The front is made from a stretchy fabric that blocks the wind whilst still allowing air to pass through. Unlike vests with windproof membranes, this material allows moisture to escape to the outside. The back is made from the lightweight fabric used in the standard Espresso 2 jersey.

The combination of both materials makes the vest compact, so it fits into even the smallest jersey pocket.
