Sidi has unveiled the Ravix, a gravel shoe that combines elements of road and mountain bike shoes. The model is designed to be suitable for mixed terrain and to offer control on technical sections.

Upper and fastening

The upper is made from a combination of soft microfibre and ripstop fabric. Ripstop reinforcements are featured on the toes and sides to resist abrasion and cuts. This design is intended to combine breathability with durability.

The NUUN 001C fastening system features two aluminium rotors that allow for a uniform fit. The system stabilises the foot within the shoe and is designed to improve power transfer to the pedals. An anatomically shaped collar made from high-density TPU reduces pressure points on the foot and enhances stability whilst cycling.

Sole and cleats

The GR1CC carbon composite sole has a stiffness index of 8. Sidi uses 25 per cent recycled rubber in the tread. The sole is designed to combine power transfer to the pedals with stability on technical sections.

An independent cleat adjustment system allows the pedal plates to be aligned individually. The system uses 4-hole cleats and enables precise adjustments to suit the rider’s foot position. The heel area features additional reinforcement, designed to provide support during pedalling and when controlling the bike.

Insole and replacement parts

The Millennium insole can be removed and replaced. It is designed to provide comfort on longer rides. Sidi has designed the Ravix with interchangeable components: in addition to the insole, the rotors of the fastening system and the 4-hole cleats can be replaced. This design is intended to extend the shoe’s lifespan and simplify maintenance.

The Sidi Ravix costs 249 euros. Sidi has been manufacturing cycling and motorcycling boots in Maser, in the Italian province of Treviso, since 1960. The company supplies its products to over 70 countries.
