The fourth stage of the Tour of Poland was an unusually long 201 kilometres. Although there were three difficult climbs in the middle of the race, the stage was a matter for the fast riders. At the finish in Cieszyn, Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) took the sprint victory on a slightly uphill road. It was his first success on the WorldTour.

On a winding final kilometre, the Frenchman took the wheel behind Ben Turner (Ineos Grenadiers) and accelerated out of his slipstream before the last left-hand bend and could no longer be caught in the final metres. Magnier won confidently with a lead of several bike lengths.

Third place for Tim Torn Teutenberg

Turner, the stage winner of the previous day, only managed second place in the end, with third place going to the German Tim Torn Teutenberg (Lidl - Trek) in the sprint. Opening stage winner Olav Kooij (Visma | Lease a Bike) did not take part in the final sprint and finished 25 seconds behind. His team-mate Matthew Brennan was also not involved in the sprint.

Paul Lapeira (Team Decathlon AG2R La Mondial) defended the leader's jersey. He continues to lead by eight seconds from Victor Langellotti (Ineos Grenadiers), Jan Christen (UAE - Team Emirates - XRG) follows by twelve seconds.

This is how the 4th stage of the Tour of Poland 2025 went

At the start of the stage in Rybnik, an all-Polish lead group formed, consisting of Michal Pomorski and Pawel Bernas (Polish national team) and Filip Maciejuk (Red Bull - Bora - hansgrohe). The trio quickly built up a lead of over three minutes. The terrain became more demanding towards the middle of the race. Bernas secured the first mountain classification after 90 kilometres at Przełęcz Przegibek (1st category), while Maciejuk won the mountain classification in Orle Gniazdo (2nd category) 30 kilometres later.

The last mountain classification of the day was the Salmopol Pass (1st category), which awaited the peloton 67 kilometres before the finish. Shortly before the climb, Pomorski lost contact with his two escape companions, but the Belgian Timo Kielich (Alpecin - Deceuninck), leader of the mountain classification, rode to the front from the peloton and won the mountain classification.

Maciejuk rides 195 kilometres in the lead

Bernas also had to let go 50 kilometres before the finish, and shortly afterwards Kielich was also caught by the peloton. From then on, Maciejuk continued his escape as a soloist. The finale was held on a six-kilometre final lap around the finish in Cieszyn.

With 20 kilometres to go, Lorenzo Milesi (Team Movistar) jumped out of the peloton to join Maciejuk at the front. Together they defended a lead of a few seconds before their escape came to an end 2.3 kilometres before the finish. Maciejuk was thus in the lead for around 195 kilometres. The sprinters then determined the arrival of the stage.
